Spring is upon us and with non-essential retail due to open up in the next couple of weeks, hopefully we can all look forward to the Summer months!
I’ve certainly been busy during the first 3 months of the year, updating our name, our 1st year anniversary along with speaking to lots of new and existing clients about their insurance needs.
If you missed our emails about our birthday and name change you can view them here!
Have a great Easter weekend!
East Yorkshire Insurance Brokers
This month I would like to introduce you to Jude Rhodes. Jude is the Director of Lawrence Legacy and is able to assist you with Business Will Writing and Lasting Power of Attorney. Jude would like to ask you the following:
- LPA (Lasting Power of Attorney). If you had an accident, was unable to make decisions and lost the mental capacity who would you want to appoint as your LPA to make business decisions and transactions? For example, from paying your customers, suppliers and employees to making ongoing business development decisions. This could include the growth of the business or the day to day operations
- Business Wills and Estate Planning. Upon your death who would you appoint as an Executor or Trustee to continue the ongoing operations of the business or, possibly to sell your business
Jude is able to give clear reasons and principles for ‘Why a person needs a Business Will’. She will detail the consequences of how not having a legal Will in place can affect how a person’s life-time of achievement, wealth, property assets and business will be distributed.
These are just a couple of the areas where Jude can assist you. She is able to offer you a free review or consultation regarding LPA or Business Will Writing.
This year more than ever has highlighted the need to protect yourself, your business and your family. Jude is happy to have an open and honest discussion with you and if you would like to arrange a virtual coffee meeting with her to find out more, please feel free to contact her or book an appointment with the following link.

Landlord Electrical Inspections
These new Regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a person who is qualified and competent, at least every 5 years. Landlords have to provide a copy of the electrical safety report to their tenants, and to their local authority if requested.
Click here to read the guidance from Gov.uk.
Please note that not complying with this regulation may effect your ability to make a claim on your property owners insurance.
